What We Learned
1. The five defective units taught us. We should have inspected before accepting the shipment. Now we inspect everything before putting into service.
2. The documentation saved us with the supplier. We had photos and test results showing defects. Supplier honored warranty without question.
3. The spectrometer investment was worth it. We bought a $300 spectrometer. Now we verify wavelength on every device. Catches issues before they become problems.
4. The standardized checklist prevented errors. Instead of relying on memory, we follow the checklist every time. No steps get skipped.
5. The third-party QC service exists. For large orders, some suppliers offer third-party inspection. Cost: $50-100 per unit. Worth it for expensive equipment.
For LED therapy clinics, quality control matters. Inspect every device. Document everything. The investment in QC saves money on warranty claims and protects patient safety.
