The Documentation Process
Before first treatment:
1. Have patient sign consent form
2. Take baseline photos (before treatment)
3. Take measurements (wrinkle depth, skin elasticity, etc.)
4. Record subjective assessment (“How do you rate your skin? 1-10?”)
5. Note any relevant factors (skincare routine, sun exposure, etc.)
After each treatment:
1. Take progress photos
2. Take measurements
3. Update subjective assessment
4. Note any adverse reactions
After final treatment:
1. Take final photos (same setup as baseline)
2. Take final measurements
3. Get final subjective assessment
4. Ask for testimonial (written or video)

What We Learned
1. The standardized setup made comparison easy. Same lighting, same distance, same angle. When we compare before and after, the difference is clear.
2. The consent form protected us. A patient later claimed we used their photo without permission. We showed the signed consent form. Issue resolved.
3. The measurement data was more convincing than photos. Photos can be lit differently. Measurements (wrinkle depth in mm, skin elasticity score) are objective.
4. The weekly documentation kept patients motivated. When patients see progress, they’re more likely to complete the treatment course.
5. The video testimonials were gold. Written testimonials are OK. Video testimonials are better. Patients saying “I saw results in 4 weeks” with visible improvement is compelling.
For LED therapy clinics, before-and-after documentation is essential. It builds credibility, helps refine treatments, and provides marketing content. Set up a systematic process before you need it.
